Alice Mason was born on May 11, 1950 in Natchez, Mississippi to the late Percy Mason and the late Atlanta Harris-Mason. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 6:28 a.m. at Silver Cross Hospital located in New Lenox, Illinois.

Alice was baptized at an early age at Waterloo Missionary Baptist Church in Lorman, Mississippi under the leadership of the late Reverend James Dorsey. 

Alice attended lower elementary school in Lorman, Mississippi. She later attended upper elementary school in Fayette, Mississippi and graduated from Liddell High School with the Class of 1970. After high school graduation, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with family.

After presiding in Chicago for a while, she attended church with family and joined Miracle House of Prayer, formerly Southwestern Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her church family and was always expressing that love through gifts and food. She was a friendly, outgoing person who had a generous heart that extended to her family and friends.

Alice's employment history consisted of: From warehouse coordinator to production supervisor for Johnson Products Company. She was also a distribution manager for L'Oreal U.S.A., Incorporated. After retiring for a few years, she returned to the workforce and worked for RNA Corporation until her health began to fail.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Alfonso and Joseph Mason; three sisters: Derotha Jackson, Lula Mae Banks, and Dixie Mason; sister-cousin: Annetta Johnson; grandmother: Martha Winchester; two aunts: Mattie Owens and Monzora Davis; bonus brother: Arthur Mason.

Alice leaves to cherish her memories: sister: Martha Crayton of Lorman, Mississippi; niece who was like a daughter: Maria Crayton of Jonesboro, Georgia; godchildren: Nikki and Corey Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law: Angelia Mason of Glen Allan, Mississippi; bonus children: Pamela Hargrove, Quesanette Payne, Craig Payne all of Chicago, Illinois and Michelle Davis of Charlotte, North Carolina; bonus brother and sister: David & Lillie Gilson of Fayette, Mississippi; bonus sister: Nola Buford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many devoted longtime friends (Irma, Shirley, Betty, Barbara, Aileen, Toni, Wilma, Linda, David, Bernard, and Bob).

Pastor Cornelius Johnson will be officiating.
