Delanders (Dale) Parker was the son of Mr. Rufus H. Parker and Mrs. Ruby Lee Parker both (deceased). He was the fourth of eight children. One brother preceded him in death (Bennie). He attended Public Schools in Port Gibson, Mississippi, where he was a member of the Blue Knights Club. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea and Hawaii. Delanders was baptized at an early age at The Greater St. Mark Baptist Church In Port Gibson, MS. During his professional career, he lived and worked in Georgia before returning to Port Gibson. He attended Utica Junior College and Hinds Junior College. Delanders had many interests, he loved hunting, fishing, horse-back riding, listening to the radio and watching football, baseball and westerns. He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Marie Wilson of Fort Washington Maryland, Yancey Aukward (Clifton, Deceased) of Fredericksburg, VA, Jeannettee Johnston (Walter) of Clinton, MD, and Beverly Parker(William) of Fort Washington M.D and two brothers, Elvis Parker of Washington D.C and Virgel Parker of Port Gibson, MS, four aunts, Alfredia Burns of Montgomery Alabama, Eleanor Chambers of Chicago, IL, Lula Tate of Milwaukee, WI, Rose Rozier of Chicago, IL, and two uncles, Malcom Parker of Chicago, IL and Mark Parker, Jr., of Vicksburg, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. A special friend, Ms. Clementine Woods, and her daughters Clemmesha Woods, Camellia Woods and Capetra Polk of Port Gibson, MS. Four close friends, Calvin Harris, Mark Parker, Clarence Barnes, and Bobby Earl Carpenter, and service veterans.
