Eddie Daniel Dorsey, born November 29, 1960, in Claiborne County, embraced life with great warmth until his passing on August 29, 2026, at his home in Port Gibson, MS. He graduated from Port Gibson High School. Eddie devoted himself to his career at Brown Construction and Roofing, LLC, retiring in February 2026.

His belief in faith guided him as an active member of White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison, MS, where his spirit found both solace and community. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alex and Paralee Davis-Dorsey, and his dear sister, Daisy (Leroy) Dee.

Eddie's legacy of love endures in the hearts of his cherished wife, Brenda Derby-Dorsey; his daughters, Youtoya  (Ronald) Jones and Edrienne (Emanuel) Steward; his son, Martevis (Shaydrienne) Dorsey; and his precious grandchildren, Aniaya Dorsey, Zhaylan Dorsey, Ronald Jones,III, and Gracelyn Jones. His memory also lives on through his sisters, Ora (Johnnie) Guinn, Laura Prather, Brenda (Michael) Bailey, Shelia Dorsey, and Jerrie (Calvin) Jackson, as well as his brother-in-law, Ricky Derby, and sister-in-law, LaKenya Derby.

Eddie's gentle warmth and steadfast love will remain forever in our hearts.

Visitation: Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Barnes Chapel & Mortuary Service, 5087 Hwy 61 South, Port Gibson, MS 39150. 

Funeral:  Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. , White Hall M.B. Church, 5130 White Hall Road, Pattison, MS 39144.
